Join the Northeast Alpine Flower Watch

This summer, we're excited to assist the Appalachian Mountain Club the Northeast Alpine Flower Watch, a long-term alpine flower monitoring program focused on identifying the ecological impacts of climate change in alpine areas across the Northeast. The information helps them understand which species and communities are most vulnerable in the face of changing alpine conditions and identify upcoming conservation challenges.

A key part of this project is based on community science where hikers take photos of target alpine plant species with the iNaturalist app and answer a few questions about the plants' current life stages. We feel our members are ideal candidates for this project.

Join us and members of AMC staff on Tuesday, June 25 at 6 PM for a Zoom webinar. Learn how to utilize the iNaturalist app and make safe observations during your hikes this summer.
