Swimming
Swimming in Baxter State Park is a great way to spend a hot August afternoon!
Swimming
Baxter State Park’s many lakes and ponds are quite cold and might not be amendable to those who prefer to swim in warm water, but there’s nothing like a dip into a cold mountain lake after a long hike.
-
Abol Pond
The Abol Pond Shelter is located at the western end of Abol Pond and provides swimming and canoeing opportunities.
-
Togue Pond
Togue Pond Beach is located near the south entrance, a few hundred feet from the Park’s Visitor Center. It’s the most popular day-use location in the Park and is perfect for swimming and picnicking.

Ledge Falls
Nesowadnehunk is the most remote of the Park's roadside campgrounds and provides easy access to Ledge Falls, a popular swimming spot during hot summer weather.
